Mentoring Monday

March 22, 2019

Mentorship matters.

According to a report from the Association for Talent Development, a mentoring relationship is proven to benefit both mentor and mentee. Mentors benefit by developing new perspectives and developing leadership skills while mentees receive professional development and a better understanding of organizational culture.

On February 25, several LGW Members served as mentors to Girl Scouts in our region during the Bizwomen Mentoring Monday. The event, a new partnership between Girl Scouts of America and American City Business Journals, took place in 43 participating Girl Scout markets across the United States. During these events, Gold Award Girl Scouts paired with influential female business leaders through "speed-coaching." The Gold Award is the most prestigious a Girl Scout can earn.

At Leadership Greater Washington, we believe leadership is about more than making deals. It's about making a difference. We'd like to thank our Members for doing their part to lift up young girls by providing mentorship during this event. The service of our Members is a testament to what LGW is all about.
