Leadership Greater Washington kicks off its 2010 program year and introduces Leadership Greater Washington’s 24^th class to the at-large membership.  In the past at this event, LGW has celebrated those effective connections and collaborations made through the organization, honored regional “unsung” youth leadership organizations, recognized top regional leaders who promote the region as one community, honored those LGW members who hold or have held elected office and saluted its past board chairs and outstanding members.

 

A reception and luncheon will be held at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in downtown Washington, DC and will be attended by nearly 550 members and guests.

Leadership Greater Washington continues its annual tradition of honoring outstanding examples of Greater Washington community service.  Nearly 720 top corporate, government and community leaders attend this elegant black-tie event.  Local elected officials and other dignitaries will attend this star-studded gala of who’s who among area movers and shakers. 

 

Four awards are presented each year to individuals and organizations doing good works in the community including: 

 

q       The Volunteer of the Year Award: presented to an LGW member for their efforts in the community.

q       The Community Partnership Award: presented to a non-profit & corporation for collaborative success.

q       The Youth Leadership Award:  presented to a young person for their community service leadership benefiting other youth or the region.

q       The Founders’ Award for Community Service & Leadership: presented to an individual or entity for their efforts in promoting LGW’s core values of leadership, civic and social responsibility, regionalism and diversity.

Leadership Greater Washington will host its 7^th Annual Golf “Tournament of Leaders” to allow members and guests to have a fun-filled day of golf as a back drop for networking and relationship-building.  Limited to 120 golfers, players at all skill levels will enjoy the challenge and fun of the “best ball” format.  Breakfast, followed by golfing and ending with a luncheon and reception overlooking the course will ensure a good time is had by all.  This trophy event also presents awards for the longest drive and closet to the cup.  This event will sell out due to limited spaces, so reserve your foursome and sponsorship today.

Leadership Greater Washington’s Annual Celebration honors the organization’s accomplishments during the year.  This event, an evening reception, is offered for free to members and guests as an added benefit of membership.  Awards are presented to top contributors and the “Best Class” of the year. The event inducts the new Leadership Greater Washington board of directors and allows the newly elected representatives of the current class to introduce themselves and their classmates to the general membership.  Members of the upcoming class and guests are also invited to learn more about Leadership Greater Washington and to start making connections across LGW classes.   As a sponsor of the event, your company name and logo will appear:
